WANT TO JOIN?
JOINING AS A CADET You can join as a cadet from the
September when you start in the school academic Year 8, you no longer need to
wait until your 13th birthday, and up to your 17th Birthday. The start age has
been brought into line with the school year to enable a number of cadets to
join at the same time which makes it easier from a squadron training program
and allows friends wishing to all join to do so together. First thing to do is to make contact
with the Squadron. This is easily done by scanning or clicking on the QR
image at the bottom of this page which will take you to a secure form. You
can ring the Squadron during normal parade times (Mon & Fri 7.15-9.00pm)
on 01752 473781 (if there is no reply please leave your name and number so we
can get back to you) Once you have made initial contact we
will arrange for you to visit the Squadron. This is ideally, but not
essential, with a parent or guardian so that they can be shown around and
have opportunity to ask any questions they may have. During your visit you
will have explained what the Royal Air Force Air Cadet organisation has to
offer and what is expected from their members. After any questions have been
answered and you have been shown around you will have the opportunity to stay
for the remainder of the evening. You will be allocated a mentor to show you
what to do at each part of the evening - do not worry you will not be
expected to be expert straight away, you will be shown what you need to do, Your parents will, if not already completed, be advised how
to complete and submit the parent consent forms to allow you to join the
Squadron and participate in activities. Once we have received your joining
forms you will officially become a Royal Air Force Junior Air Cadet, you will
receive a welcome email with a link to access your Cadet Portal. As soon as
you have completed some training you will be enrolled and issued with your
uniform and service record book. JOINING AS AN ADULT STAFF MEMBER Becoming a member of staff can be a
truly rewarding experience and gain qualification valid within and outside of
the organisation. The first step is to make contact with the Squadron by
completing the online form by scanning or clicking on the below QR code image.
