339 (South Dartmoor) Squadron is part of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets based in the town of Ivybridge, which is located on the southern edge of Dartmoor.

The Squadron is open to new cadets, male and female, from the commence of academic year 8 to 17 years. Cadets who meet minimum criteria can extend up to the age of 20 years. Once cadets have passed specific test they are able to participate in a wide range of activities including flying, gliding, shooting, adventure activities, sport and camps at UK and overseas RAF bases to name but a few. Academic studies can result in the award of BTEC in Aviation Studies and BTEC First Diploma in Public Services. For information on joining the Air Cadets click here

Adults aged 20yrs & over can also gain pleasure and enjoyment by becoming a member of Adult Staff or being a member of the Squadron's Civilian Committee, see Adult Information for more information.
 

 COVID SAFETY: The Squadron is committed to the safety of all cadets and staff and is following all Government COVID Secure precautions. During periods where it is not safe to meet face to face the Squadron opertaes virtually to continue training online allowing cadets to progress through the training syllabus.

 

 

SQUADRON CIVILIAN COMMITTEE

 

The Civilian Committee is an essential part of the Squadron  made up of interested parties including parents of cadets. They look after the welfare of the cadets by manging the Squadron funds to ensure the caets and the Squadron has the right equipment for their needs. They meet four times a year
